"Everybody for Disaster Preparedness - Always Ready for Safety!" 119 Disaster Prevention Event in 2025

Taipei City Fire Department will host the “2025 119 Firefighter Festival and Disaster Prevention Event” on January 18th, 2025, from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM at Taipei Children's Amusement Park and nearby park roads. This event brings together partners from industries, governments, academia, NGOs, and the military, offering a variety of engaging and interactive activities. All citizens are warmly invited to participate.

Since its establishment on July 10, 1995, the Taipei City Fire Department has been dedicated to safeguarding its citizens for nearly 30 years. This year, to celebrate the department’s 30th anniversary and to support the upcoming World Masters Games 2025 Taipei, jointly hosted by Taipei City and New Taipei City. “Strong”, the mascot of the World Masters Games 2025 Taipei, has been invited to make a special appearance, bringing a lively and fun atmosphere to disaster preparedness education. Attendees can participate in activities such as “VR Fire Evacuation and Escape Challenge”, “DIY Creative Beads Keychains”, and the “Junior Firefighter Experience Zone”. These hands-on experiences teach essential disaster preparedness skills while allowing participants to create unique keepsakes to remember the day.

Adding to the excitement, popular LINE FRIENDS buddies BROWN and CONY will join the disaster preparedness team, guiding citizens to learn important safety knowledge. To further engage participants, the Fire Department and LINE FRIENDS are launching the 30th Anniversary limited LINE Sticker “LINE FRIENDS Teams up with TFD”, adding fun and flair to the celebration. Disaster preparedness is for everyone—young and old alike—and this event provides an educational, entertaining, and meaningful way to learn essential safety skills.

In recent years, Taipei City has actively promoted community disaster prevention and response efforts, aiming to enhance the community’s self-reliance in disaster preparedness. During this event, Deputy Mayor Chang Wen-De made a special appearance to recognize Zhinan Village and Zhulun Village for earning the Ministry of the Interior’s One-Star Resilient Community Certification, as well as Dahu Village, Zhonghua Village, and Datun Village for achieving the Two-Star Resilient Community Certification. The Deputy Mayor expressed gratitude to the village leaders, residents, and all participants for their dedication to advancing disaster prevention efforts.

Additionally, with the Lunar New Year holiday approaching, the Fire Department reminds citizens to prioritize fire safety during family gatherings and meals. Residents should pay close attention to fire safety when cooking at home and ensure that power and gas supplies are turned off before leaving their homes for extended periods. These measures will help reduce the risk of fires, safeguard lives and property, and ensure a safe and happy New Year for all.
